Who Are We?

Faye

I always knew I wanted to do something to help people, but it wasn't until 2015 when I started working in mental health that I found my calling. I had previously studied Criminology and Sociology at degree level, and later Psychology. I have worked in local NHS funded services for 8 years, providing assessments for therapy, and later trained to deliver Low Intensity, and then High Intensity CBT.
I love watching people reflect and make changes to their lives for the better and particularly enjoy self-esteem work. I have an interest in creative writing and believe writing can be a great therapeutic tool. I have always felt I can express myself easier in written form and typing therapy can be a great tool for others who feel the same  to engage in a way that suits them. In my free time, I'm a sucker for a true crime documentary, a good book (or 3 at once!) and a cup of tea. I live by the sea with my husband and cat.

From being a teenager, it always confused me why mental health never seemed to be as important as physical health in society. As I learned how the two were deeply connected, psychology and mental health became my passion as I focused my studies on these. I've worked in an NHS funded therapy service for 8 years, building up from a support worker role, to providing Low Intensity CBT before training in High Intensity CBT. Supporting and working together with people to untangle their problems so they are able to grow and move on from them, is super rewarding for me. My particular interest is in building confidence and self-esteem, helping people to to more accepting of who they are and celebrating this! I also enjoy working on this in the context of neurodivergence, as I have the experience myself of being diagnosed with ADHD later in life. In my spare time you will catch me creating digital art, playing video games, listening to my favourite music or chilling with my cat and dog.
